The Cradle ( Basket ) formation and Whose Golden Age is approaching?
the wheel of collective fortune is spinning fast right now
I started thinking about the Cradle formation aka Barbault’s Basket sometime in the summer of 2025. Since then I went through motions about what it all means - the four major players of the zodiac forming a truly once in a lifetime configuration, moving the tectonic plates of our reality into a next evolutionary cycle. I want to stay both hopeful and realistic about the benefits this configuration brings and who the main beneficiaries might be. Because if it is a golden era, then golden era for whom, and if it is a rapture, again for whom? We need to move away from generalization of astrological transits, and labeling them as good or bad, especially the ones that are so layered and complex.
At the end you can find sign by sign house breakdown, just a little help for you to know which houses are getting involved for your Rising sign.
These are all slow moving planets, it is not a one and done kind of thing, these planets are cooking for ages. Time will show the immensity of changes started in the summer of 2026, for many people individually and for the whole collective. What is happening is not the beginning, it is a pivotal moment for a number of cycles that started at various periods in the past and now are having a momentous rehashing through the planets involved. The planets are all at 4º degrees. Pluto in Aquarius, Jupiter in Leo, Neptune in Aries and Uranus in Gemini. If you have any planets or points between 0º and 7º degrees of the signs mentioned above, this Cradle becomes much more personal for you.
i added couple spots for 1:1 readings at the end of the month
Planetary cycles begin when planets form a conjunction, like for example Jupiter met Pluto in 2020 in Capricorn, and now they are about to form an opposition to each other, that is a tension moment and culmination of choices and events that took place in 2020. But that is just a piece of the puzzle. Another fun cycle would be Pluto/Uranus, it is 125 years. The last conjunction was in the 1960’s, roughly from 1965 to 1967. Now that Pluto is trining Uranus, we are at the positive junction of that cycle. The trine taking place right now is a chance to either correct, advance or see the truth about something that originated in the 1960s in relation to power, upheaval, manipulation, civil rights, tax system and work reform. I am not going to go through all of the cycles between four planets involved in this Cradle formation, I just want everyone to understand the picture here. We are at the point of acceleration of many many themes that originated at different times. Some of these cycles started in 1891, some in 1965 and in 1993, and now we arrive at the point where these planets are seeing eye to eye in a seemingly positive way, but again positive for who?
Before I go ahead with my thoughts and mental gymnastics about this Cradle, let’s take a look at this Cradle, it’s shape.
To me it looks like some kind of boat/vessel and my brain goes to Noah’s Arc, but you can make up your own analogy. It is a container of sorts, and something is being put in there and taken places at high speed.
Now let’s unpack the themes of what is transpiring and is asked of us.
First of all the only planet that has rulership here is Jupiter in Leo ( rules Sagittarius and Pisces houses in your chart) and it is the fastest moving among them all, the most personal. This is the point in the chart we might have the easiest time relating to, anchoring ourselves and having some sense of direction. The Leo house in your chart, start there, the truth will be challenged, revealed and expanded in that house. Jupiter in Leo is not a subtle energy, it is grand and can be wasteful if not careful. I wrote about Jupiter in Leo here if you want to understand this transit more. Jupiter is a planet of meaning, what kind of meaning are we seeking in the Leo house in our chart? Does truth reign in our Leo house, or is it a performance, an ego wound maybe?
The next is Pluto in Aquarius. Pluto together with Jupiter form an opposition, which is the base of the Cradle. Pluto is the challenger and truth revealer of this configuration, it acts as a catalyst of the Cradle. Jupiter corresponds with meaning and truth, Pluto in Aquarius is challenging and testing what you assign meaning and truth to in your life. Pluto is about large resources, often resources that are hidden, both underground and offshores, resources that help to control the other, physically and psychologically. The mining for technological advances is going to get pretty intense. If you think about it Pluto is a very political beast, scheming and manipulating, the arena it is entering is of global, multi-national, technocratic and elitist views about the nature of our future. Power that is hierarchical is going to be replaced with the decentralized networks. From vertical we are moving towards horizontal exchange, like a web. Aquarius is ruled by Saturn, so we are building, but boy we are building differently, not up, but to the fringes, far and wide.
Jupiter in Leo wants to shine and come into one’s authentic life, and Pluto demands the responsibility for anything Jupiter grants us. Pluto in Aquarius is showing us that freedom is first and foremost a deeply internal process. With outside circumstances and changes of the technological nature pushing our boundaries in the next 20 years, we’ll be finding out a great deal about our own individual relationship to freedom and autonomy. Jupiter opposing Pluto is pretty much the lord of heavens meeting the lord of the underworld. Truth, law, meaning, expansion, ego vs power, hidden resources, manipulation, transformation. Jupiter wants to know what you believe in and Pluto asks what you are willing to sacrifice for this belief. Jupiter in Leo wants you to carry the light and Pluto in Aquarius checks if you are up for this task.
Then we have Neptune in Aries. Neptune softens sharp edges of Aries, the gentle strength and certain level of detachment from the results is advised in your Aries house, because that speaks of trust to something beyond yourself, but doesn’t release you from the responsibility to act. I want to emphasize that the sacrificial lamb scenario (the less spoken-of facet of Aries) can become active if we engage in battles that are not ours, ones we are manipulated/fooled into.
Aries energy chooses from within, it is not pulled into action, it is not intimidated into action. It chooses the action. There is a serious reawakening of personal agency and courage here. Forming a trine to Jupiter in Leo is about giving your maybe elusive and ungrounded visions a chance to breathe and be filled with inspiration and spiritual essence. Neptune in this Cradle dynamic is the point where we connect our goals and worldly ambition to something larger, something that transcends this reality. Read about Neptune in Aries here.
And the last participant of this configuration is Uranus in Gemini. Now this is shit starter of the Cradle, your Gemini house is where you are asked to take risks, this is a mental liberation point, the upheaval of the comfort zone. Uranus in Gemini can overwhelm us with the stream of events and changes, but the harmonious aspects it is making should help us crystalize the key themes we should focus on. If you want to read about Uranus in Gemini and its influence in the following 7 years, I wrote an extensive piece on it, read it here. But overall Uranus in Gemini, making sextiles to Jupiter and Neptune, can get anything off the ground, from paper into reality, if it is clear on the belief systems behind the endeavor. Then trine to Pluto in Aquarius saying that there is little or no power or progress in the ways of the past, in the old approach. Now is not the time to seek solutions in the past, you gotta improvise and fuck around and find out yourself.
